Sneh Jain, Co-founder & Managing Director of The Baker’s Dozen, has been added to the prestigious list of ‘BW Retail World 40 under 40′ list by BW Businessworld.
With a strong background in consulting and project management, Jain has played a key role in making ‘TBD’ one of the leading bakery brands across prominent e-retailer platforms. Through his expertise in logistics, sales, and omnichannel strategy, he has pushed TBD to new heights, firming his position as a respected leader in the industry.
TBD’s growth route is evidence of Jain’s strategic vision and firm dedication to excellence. The journey started in 2013 when Jain established a 1000 sq. ft. kitchen in Mumbai, marking the commercial launch of TBD’s first standalone store in Prabhadevi. Expanding rapidly, TBD quickly opened seven standalone stores across Mumbai between 2014 and 2015.
In 2016-17, the company resettled to a larger 5000 sq. ft. kitchen in Navi Mumbai and strategically expanded its existence to contain modern trade retail formats across Mumbai and Pune. Indicating further growth, TBD solidified its place in key markets by establishing partnerships in Bangalore and Ahmedabad with modern trade entities in 2017-18.
A defining moment for TBD arrived in 2019 when they commissioned a state-of-the-art 25,000 sq. ft. factory near Ahmedabad, incorporating innovative German technology.
This move allowed TBD to extend the shelf life of their bread from 2 days to an impressive 10 days and sponge cakes from 3 days to an astounding 25-30 days, making them the first Indian bakery to achieve such results.
Steered by soaring demand, TBD experienced exceptional growth, increasing its monthly production capacity by 2.5 times in the last three months alone.
In 2020, the company accomplished a substantial milestone by selling a million sourdough loaves across India, further solidifying its stature as a leading bakery brand.
Also, TBD established itself as India’s first Covid and pandemic-ready baking factory, assuring a safe and hygienic environment within its 25,000 sq. ft. facility.
Under Jain’s oversight, TBD has set ambitious goals for the future. With a vision to perform 4x growth in the next 18-24 months, the company intends to expand its product portfolio and distribution footprint through over 100 own stores and 1000 retail touchpoints across India.
Furthermore, TBD gears toward strengthening its consumer base in Tier-I and Tier-II cities while venturing into international markets, starting with Dubai and Singapore.
As TBD proceeds on its path of success, Jain’s leadership and dedication to excellence will continue to drive the brand forward.
