Dhruv Bogra, born in Shimla in 1968, is a veteran in the retail industry with 30 years of rich, multi-dimensional expertise in the Indian and global retail multiverse. His father was an officer in the Kumaon Regiment of the Indian Army and he grew up amidst the structured life of the cantonment. The turning point in his childhood came when he was sent to Sherwood College in Nainital for a few years.
The boarding school life ignited Dhruvs love for the mountains and nature. Subsequently he completed schooling from The Army Public School in Delhi and graduated with History Honors from the University of Delhi and is an alumni of the International Management Institute, New Delhi.
In his latest role as the Country Manager for the Australian fashion brand “Forever New” for India, Bogra contributes his expertise in his current role that involves heading the overall business for India and South east Asia for the Forever New brand.
Having finessed his understanding of the growing retail market, he has previously held various leadership roles at renowned companies such as, Adidas Group India, Bestseller Retail, Titan Industries and Levi Strauss.
His professional highlights include launching ten brands across retail and FMCG, from scratch, consolidating and relaunching retail and marketing strategies to catapult the brand and the organisation to the next level.
Over the course of his career, he has also been instrumental in signing up and opening more than a 1000 stores for various global and Indian brands.
Having extensive experience in managing complex franchise and company operated stores as well as large format stores across categories, one of his marked key achievements is building world class teams. He is an alumni of International Management Institute, New Delhi.
He is commercially astute, with a passion for driving organisational change and employee happiness to deliver core business objectives.
Apart from his quest for challenging the status quo and his drive for constant innovation, Dhruv Bogra is an adventure and endurance cyclist who cycled extensively in the Indian Himalayas and Western Ghats on his mountain bike before he embarked on an epic, solo and unsupported 15,000 km cycling journey from Deadhorse in Alaska to Cusco in Peru from June 2016 to August 2017. He is also the author of the book, ‘Grit, Gravel and Gear’ cataloguing his expeditions across the planet.
The 387-page adventure travelepic, comprises a collection of 22 stories and many poems detailing his solo expeditions across the fascinating 15,000 km stretch of land – spread across 10 countries on his bicycle; fondly called ‘Quest.’
The book garnered excellent reviews from leading publications like HT and India Today and has been in the top 100 books across global and Indian titles at Crossword stores.
