WOW Skin Science, a D2C and personal care business, has joined the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a government project to democratise e-commerce in India, the firm stated in a press statement on Tuesday.
WOW Skin Science co-founder Manish Chowdhary commented on the announcement, saying, “For a company that has been on an expansion route, it is vital to remain inventive and in-tune with the current upheavals.”
“We will have another route to extend WOW’s consumer base and widen our reach across the country with the launch of WOW on ONDC,” he added.
WOW Skin Science will be available to purchasers from all ONDC seller applications as a result of this collaboration, allowing the personal care brand to increase its footprint, as per the statement.
The ONDC network is now present in 85 locations across the country.
According to a recent research by Publicis Groupe India and the Digital India Foundation, over 250 million purchasers would be able to acquire products and services through the ONDC network over the next five years.
“The addition of WOW Skin Science to the ONDC network in the Beauty and Personal Care category will provide users with a unique variety of personal care and wellness products that can be purchased across buyer applications such as Paytm, Spice Money, Craftsvilla, Mystore, and IDFC First Bank,” said T Koshy, MD and CEO of ONDC.
Shopalyst, a discovery commerce firm, worked as a bridge between WOW Skin Science and ONDC. WOW items will be instantly discoverable on the ONDC network thanks to Shopalyst’s plugin for Shopify-powered businesses, according to the press release.
