Stellar Value Chain Solutions, a provider of consumer supply-chain solutions, announced on Tuesday that it will invest approximately Rs 200 crore to establish D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) fulfilment centres in six cities across the country by 2026.
Stellar Value Chain Solutions said in a statement that these facilities will be located in key strategic locations across the six cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, catering to all sectors with a focus on electronics, fashion, FMCG, and home decor.
According to the company, India is in the midst of a D2C revolution due to the increased adoption of digital channels and technologies, as well as the robust growth of the startup ecosystem.
Anshuman Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Stellar Value Chain Solutions said that the company intends to build a strong supply chain backbone for emerging and growth-focused D20 brands by rolling out advanced D2C fulfilment centres across key consumption centres across India.
The company stated that the investment will last 3-4 years and that it plans to increase the total D2C fulfilment space to approximately 7 million sq ft across these cities.
The company also stated that it plans to onboard approximately 20 D2C brands as its initial pool of D2C clients, and that the centres will also provide fast shipping and efficient return management services.
D2C brands will benefit from the company’s technologically advanced fulfilment centres, as well as modern transportation solutions. With its differentiated supply chain services, it aims to support large-scale entrepreneurship across the country, according to Singh.
Furthermore, the fulfilment centres will use a green logistics model to ensure environmental sustainability, according to the company, which also plans to increase hiring at both the management and operational levels to ensure the efficient operation of these facilities.
