Starbucks has named Laxman Narasimhan as their new CEO, succeeding Howard Schultz almost two weeks earlier than expected.
Schultz who previously led the organisation from 1986 to 2000 and then from 2008 to 2017, will continue to serve on the company’s board.
Last September, the company announced that Narasimhan would be appointed as its new CEO.
The new CEO has been with Starbucks since October 2022 and has now had the opportunity to consider the necessary changes in the company.
The main areas of focus are purpose, innovation, and employee engagement.
Narsimhan was the CEO of Reckitt Benckiser. He was previously a long-serving executive at Pepsico.
