Republic Day Sales Up 24% This Year: Unicommerce

         Beauty & Personal Care lead the way during republic day sales with 31 per cent YoY growth;
                                         The fashion segment reports a 29 per cent YoY growth

The Republic Day Sales by various e-commerce platforms and brands are the first major sale event of the year. Unicommerce, an integrated post-purchase experience management platform analysed over 9.5 mn order items processed during five days of Republic Day Sale for the years 2022 and 2023.

The company examined the data to understand the growth of online shopping during the first online sale of the year.

Unicommerce data shows an overall 24 per cent YoY growth in order volumes in 2023 over 2022.

The Beauty and Personal Care segment recorded the maximum growth with 31 per cent YoY growth in order volumes.

Winter-specific body care products like body lotion, body butter, and lip balm were in high demand, along with kajal, eyeliner, lipsticks, and concealer in makeup segments.

With winter yielding to spring, sellers of fashion products offered great discounts on the season-end collection, leading to 29 per cent YoY growth for the Fashion segment during the five-day sale period.

Some of the popular products from the segment include jackets, jeans, track pants, t-shirts, and belts for men, while tops, dresses, high-rise jeans, kurtas, earrings, and bracelets were the most shopped products in the women’s segment.

Other popular products ordered during the republic day sale included cricket bats, badminton racquets, watches, and perfumes.

The Home and Decor segment witnessed a 9 per cent growth with towels, laptop tables, planters, bottles, and wardrobe organisers clocking higher volumes.
