Mango Opens Flagship Store In Bangalore To Boost Indian Presence

Mango, a prominent European fashion group, is expanding its presence in India with a new flagship store in Bangalore’s Indiranagar shopping center. The store covers 5500 square feet across two floors and is the first Mango store in India to offer the Woman, Man, and Kids lines under one roof. The store also features the New Med store concept, which emphasizes sustainability and architectural integration and is already present in Mango’s flagship stores worldwide.

Mango’s presence in India has tripled over the past two years, with 80 points of sale in the country as of the end of 2022. India now has the highest number of Mango stores in Asia, up from 28 at the end of 2020 and 46 at the end of 2021.

Mango launched its Kids line in India a year ago and its menswear line in January this year with the opening of the first Mango Man store in New Delhi. The Indiranagar flagship store will also include the new Mango Man collection, which the brand recently launched in collaboration with actor Rahul Khanna.

The launch of the new store demonstrates Mango’s commitment to expanding its presence in India and Asia, particularly as India is expected to become the world’s third-largest consumer market in the next few years. Mango’s Expansion Director, Daniel López, stated that India is one of the most important markets in the company’s internationalization strategy.

In 2023, Mango plans to accelerate its expansion in India by opening more than 35 new stores, bringing its total store network to over 110 points of sale by year-end. The company also aims to refurbish some of its stores to align them with the New Med store concept.
