JioMart Records 37% Monthly Rise In Orders Via Whatsapp

Reliance Retail’s e-commerce affiliate JioMart has increased its active client base on Whatsapp by 37 per cent month on month. It further stated that the number of orders on JioMart on Whatsapp has surged ninefold since its inception, according to the company’s quarterly report, 

Jiomart and Whatsapp announced the integration of the online shopping platform via the social messaging app in August of last year. The move sought to give clients with an end-to-end purchasing experience by allowing them to explore, choose, and pay for the JioMart portfolio within Whatsapp.

In 2021, the merger was initially announced. Meta and Jio Platforms collaborated on it as part of a strategic partnership.

Reliance Retail reported a 6.24 per cent increase in net profit for the December 2022 quarter to Rs 2,400 crore on Friday. During the review period, the company’s operational revenue increased by 18.64 per cent to Rs 60,096 crore.

In its quarterly report, JioMart shared performance highlights, stating that the firm had broad-based growth across all town classes. According to a corporate spokeswoman, the platform received more than half of its revenues from tier 2 and beyond areas.

The e-tailer had a 2.5-fold boost in traffic, a 3-fold increase in app installations, and a 4-fold increase in daily active users during Diwali, as per the statement.

Its seller base increased by 83 per cent on a quarterly basis. The corporation emphasised that it incorporated SMEs and craftspeople to expand its product offerings.

In terms of product portfolio, JioMart increased its catalogue by 71 per cent quarter over quarter.
