Grounded airlines, Jet Airways’ CEO-designate Sanjiv Kapoor has left the company. His last day at work was Friday, 28 April 2023. On 4 April 2022, the aviation veteran was named as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jet Airways.
The airline, which ceased operations in 2019, earlier this year, announced that Sanjiv Kapoor would serve as CEO-designate until the lenders transferred control to a consortium of Dubai-based Murari Lal Jalan and the United Kingdom’s Kalrock Capital.
The consortium announced in March 2022 the hiring of Sanjiv Kapoor as CEO of the airline, effective 4 April 2022.
According to a previous report by CNBCTV18, Kapoor was instructed to refrain from using the title CEO of Jet Airways by the head of the Jet Airways management committee and former Resolution Professional Ashish Chhawchharia.
In February of this year, Kapoor reportedly requested that Vodafone not to phone him constantly to ‘convince me not to transfer providers.’
