GoFirst To Resume Flights On May 24: Report

GoFirst plans to resume flights by 23 May with 23 aircraft and a scaled-back operation. The airline was using 27 aircraft as of 2 May. The airline and the Centre have also talked about when flights will return. Up until 15 May, Go First had formally stopped selling tickets.

The airline was given a show-cause notice by the civil aviation watchdog Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Monday for failing to deliver effective services and was urged to halt ticket sales.

The airline halted operating as of May 3 after filing for voluntary insolvency with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on 2 May.

The voluntary plea from Go First was accepted by NCLT on Wednesday.

Abhliash Lal was also named Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) to manage the indebted corporation by a two-member panel that included President Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and L N Gupta.

The company is now protected by a moratorium, and the suspended board of directors has been told to help the IRP run it while insolvency procedures are ongoing.
