Flipkart reported a 33 per cent increase in demand for heating appliances in the October-December 2022 period compared to the same period a year ago.
According to Flipkart, the demand for heating appliances has increased across the country, including in tier-2, 3 and beyond cities such as Arrah, Darbhanga, Delhi, Gaya, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Muzaffarpur, and Patna.
“Demand for heating appliances increased by 33 per cent during the October-December period when compared to the same period last year,” Flipkart said in a statement.
Temperatures in India are dropping as winter arrives early in some parts of the country.
Customers’ demand for heating appliances has increased by one-third across the country, particularly in the North. Consumers are increasingly inclined to purchase smart heating appliances that make their lives easier while also being energy efficient, according to the company. Hari Kumar, Flipkart’s Vice President of Large Appliances, stated.
Smart features such as auto-cut capability dehumidifiers and cloth hangers on room heaters are now preferred over traditional ones by consumers.

According to the statement, this winter saw a record-breaking increase in the sale of heating appliances.
