Database Of All Startups Will Benefit Public & Commercial Sectors: Piyush Goyal

Piyush Goyal Discusses Roadmap To Achieve $250 Bn In Textiles Production And $100 Bn In Exports By 2030

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday that creating a comprehensive database of all startups in the country will benefit both the public and commercial sectors.

According to him, the database would benefit the government in its purchase of products and services. Goyal noted that there must be a lot of businesses with varying degrees of success that are not listed in any database.

The minister also solicited feedback from the startup community on how to reduce regulatory burdens and simplify processes to improve the ease of doing business in the country.

“I am confident that there are many more areas where we can lessen the burden of processes for all of you,” he stated at the National Startup Awards ceremony.

He described the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) as a Unified Payments Interface-type protocol that would democratise e-commerce by enrolling crores of small shopkeepers across the country.

Goyal further stated that ONDC will assist in the promotion of small businesses.
