Chana Dal, Onions At Affordable Prices In Delhi NCR Through NCCF-ONDC Collaboration

The National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) has joined forces with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to make chana dal and onions more affordable for consumers in the Delhi NCR region, as per a media release.

Chana Dal, a crucial dietary component for many households, is being offered in 2 KG lots at Rs 60 per KG, a significant reduction from the usual market price ranging from Rs 90 to Rs 100 per KG for similar quality chana dal.

In addition, NCCF is facilitating the availability of onions at Rs 25 per KG in 2 KG lots, which is approximately 25% cheaper than the prevailing market rates of Rs 30 to Rs 35 per KG in the NCR region.

NCCF has been registered as a seller on the ONDC Network through Shiprocket, a prominent seller app and logistics service provider.

T Koshy, Managing Director and CEO at ONDC said, “We are proud to collaborate with NCCF in making essential commodities more affordable for consumers in Delhi NCR. This initiative exemplifies the transformative power of cooperation in addressing economic challenges and ensuring that essential products remain within reach for all.”

Currently, this initiative is operational in over 100 pin codes, allowing consumers to purchase chana dal and onions through buyer applications on the ONDC Network, including Magicpin, Paytm, MyStore, Pincode, and others.

While the initiative is currently focused on the National Capital Region, NCCF and ONDC have plans to expand it through collaborations with various buyer and seller apps, as well as logistics partners. Over the coming months, the initiative is anticipated to extend to ten more cities, providing economic benefits to a broader audience.
