Spencer’s Retail, a part of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka group, has announced the appointment of Anuj Singh as its new CEO and managing director.
The decision was made by the board of directors in a meeting held on Wednesday, based on the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee. Singh will be joining the company as an additional director from 22 March 2023 and will serve as the CEO and MD for a period of three years.
Singh brings over two decades of leadership experience from various organizations in India, West Asia, and Europe.
He has worked in sales and marketing roles in the paints, tobacco, and beverages sectors, and then held leadership positions in the beverages and food services industry for more than a decade. In his most recent role, he was the country head for General Mills India.
Singh’s appointment follows the resignation of former CEO and MD Devendra Chawla, which occurred around two months ago.
