Ankit Rungta is a successful entrepreneur and the Co-founder & Managing Director of Story@Home, a leading home furnishing brand in India. He was recently included in the eminent list of ‘BW Retail World 40 under 40’ for his exceptional work in the retail industry.
Rungta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Mumbai University and is currently pursuing the Stanford Seed Transformation Program from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
He has had previous experiences in manufacturing and brokerage firms of his family business where he gained valuable insights into various aspects of business and entrepreneurship.
Story@Home, a bootstrap company that began its journey in 2012, has been growing at a remarkable pace of 15-20 per cent YoY. It delivers up to 10,000 orders on a daily basis and is a ‘MADE IN INDIA’ brand, with all its products designed and manufactured in India.
To enhance its retail process, Story@Home uses SAP implementation and other SAAS-based software for faster warehouse processing and a strong supply chain. All of its retail channels are connected to the in-house ERP via API, and inbuilt tools are used for data processing and account reconciliation. The company also utilises power BI and Google Data Studio for reporting and data analysis.
Rungta’s commitment to innovation and his relentless pursuit of excellence have earned him numerous awards and recognition from various industry experts. The company has been recognized for achieving the highest GMV in revenue and the Best Lifestyle Brand for the Home Furnishing Category in Myntra for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022.
Story@Home was also awarded the Best Retail Brand of India by Cabinet Minister Giriraj Singh, MSME in the Brands of India Award 2019. In 2018, Story@Home was recognized at #7 by India Retailing Bureau as the brand that is energising the Indian Home Décor segment.
The company has also received the Amazon Extra Mile Award for Outstanding Performance in 2018, the Certificate of Achievement – Gold Seller Status on Flipkart from 2016 to 2022, the Top Flipstar for the Highest Units Sold in the region in Oct 2016, and the Certificate of Excellence – Flipstar Book of Records from Flipkart in 2016, Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Performance in 2023 by Amazon.
