UBON, a consumer electronics brand in India has got its roots in the Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 markets, says its Co-founder & MD, Mandeep Arora in an exclusive interview with BW Retail World.
“We have found our niche in go-to-market (GTM), specifically in tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4 segments, we have built a strong reputation and deep connections. UBON is widely recognised and trusted among the local population in these markets,” he states.
Arora expresses confidence and states that the company does not concern itself with the actions of its competition. Instead, it sees all businesses as part of the ecosystem.
Looking ahead the MD told BW Retail World that it aims to employ 5000 people in the next five years, not only for business growth but also to contribute to the betterment of society in India.

UBON’s international presence is also increasing rapidly. “We recently started our international distribution channels in Nepal. In Bangladesh, we are looking forward to starting the distribution channel as well. We are also going to open a store in UAE very soon,” shared Arora.
The company’s focus is on expanding into Gulf, Asian, and African markets, as well as other Asian subcontinents which got the same geopolitical condition as India, he stressed.
While talking about his company’s core missions, Arora says, “Many people are still using wired earphones. Our mission, reflects in our tagline ‘Born to Be Free,’ is to free people from the limitations of wired earphones”, adding, “We want them to experience the freedom and convenience of wireless technology.”
He further mentions that the company is targeting to grow 20 per cent year-on-year (YoY) for this fiscal.
The company recently collaborated with Indian Premiere League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals as its official audio and headgear partner.
